I parked my car and looked around telling myself I had to be in the wrong place because the individuals around me were carrying boxes of food or waiting in a line outside of the building. In an effort to be where I needed to be on time, I decided to walk around and hopefully be lead into the right direction. I didn?t have to walk long before I found the entrance for administration and volunteers. The most memorable portion of the experience happened in the first ten minutes. The lady that led us into the back of the food bank for our tour told us about all of the generous things that the bank does for individuals and families in need. I?ve always known that there are starving children in the world but she p ointed out that those children could be my neighbors. At that moment I knew what we were doing there was a great thing. I also read a sign on a bulletin board that said something along the lines of, our volunteers saved us over 1000 dollars this year. I know that if I could have helped just one family on Friday then I was doing something worthwhile with my time.
